CCDH "Disinformation Dozen" Report — Directly Triggers Mass Deplatforming

The Center for Countering Digital Hate published its "Disinformation Dozen" report, claiming 12 individuals were responsible for 65% of anti-vaccine misinformation on social media. The figure — subsequently disputed by independent researchers — was used as the basis for demands that platforms permanently ban the named individuals. Several were deplatformed or demonetised following the report's publication. The Biden White House publicly cited the CCDH report when pressuring platforms to remove vaccine-sceptic content, with Press Secretary Jen Psaki stating "12 individuals are driving 65% of the anti-vaccine misinformation on social media platforms." X Corp later sued the CCDH alleging it misused data access to manufacture political pressure campaigns; the lawsuit was dismissed on standing grounds.
